Campaign of the Month: September 2014
The Long Silence
The Long Silence was marked by the growth of colonies on extrasolar planets. So far from their homeworld, the colonists had only the resources they could bring with them on their sleeper ships, or else harvest from their new homes. Success, even survival, was never a sure thing. Periodically, automated probes and supply shipments would arrive in system, but colonies were largely left to develop on their own.
The first experiments in Faster Than Light technologies were carried out during this period, first with communication, then later with propulsion, and as it was refined, the Long Silence started to give way to the formation of the first truly interstellar governments.
As the first wave of human colonization took root, the next wave began its voyage into the stars.
